Bills predicted to acquire AJ Brown.
The Buffalo Bills made a big move to acquire DJ Moore to be the team’s No. 1 receiver, but the team may not be done.
The Bills could draft another receiver in the first round or make another trade. Ahead of the NFL Draft, NFL analyst Matt Okada of NFL.com predicted the Bills would pull off a blockbuster trade for Philadelphia Eagles star receiver AJ Brown.
Bills acquire:
- AJ Brown
Eagles acquire:
- 2026 first-round pick (26th overall)
- 2027 second-round pick
The proposed deal would be a blockbuster, but it would be a hefty price to pay for Brown. Brown would be the team’s No. 1 receiver. And, he would make the Bills’ offense one of the best in the league with Brown and Moore as the top two receivers.
Brown is under contract through 2029, but there is a potential out of his deal after this season. However, if Buffalo acquires him, it likely would be to take on his contract and be a key part of the offense for the foreseeable future.
Brown is coming off a year where he recorded 78 receptions for 1,003 yards and 7 touchdowns. He’s had 1000+ receiving yards in six of his first seven NFL seasons.
Analyst Explains Bills-Eagles Swap
The proposed deal would be a blockbuster, but many fans would scoff at the price.
However, Okada believes the Bills need to go all-in this year. So, the team shouldn’t have to worry about the price, as the team has to be aggressive to build a great offense around Allen.
“With the addition of Brown, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better offense, at least on paper,” Okada wrote. “The Bills used 11 personnel at an above-average rate in 2025, despite rolling out Shakir, Keon Coleman, and Khalil Shakir as their top three wideouts. From 2020 to 2023, which were the most productive years of Allen’s career with Stefon Diggs in tow, Buffalo used 11 personnel at the seventh-highest rate in the league.
“A passing attack led by Brown and Moore could ascend to the same stratosphere as the Bengals or Rams. Buffalo will need to surrender the 26th overall pick to make this happen. Which would mean missing on a top-tier defensive piece or less costly rookie receiver. But if trading for Brown makes Joe Brady’s offense the most dangerous in the NFL, it might be worth it.”
Brown is one of the top receivers in the NFL, and adding him and Moore in one offseason would be a stellar offseason for Brandon Beane.
Buffalo Eager for New-Look Offense
The Bills acquired Moore to help bolster the offense. New head coach Joe Brady is eager to work with him again.
Brady believes Moore brings a new skill set to the offense, which will help everyone else.
“It was important to get a skill set like DJ, a guy that can stretch it, can win one-on-one, can get the ball in his hands, and he can win on a slant,” Brady said. “Adding DJ to it should only make Josh’s life a lot easier and make Khalil Shakir’s life a lot easier.”
However, the Bills may not be done adding to the offense after the Moore trade.
