The Chicago White Sox are down in the dumps once again, with a record of 3-5 and tied for last place in the AL Central. However, they have a very promising young core, and getting some veterans could help jumpstart their growth

FanSidedās Christopher Kline predicts that one veteran they could get is two-time All-Star ace Tyler Anderson. Anderson is closer to retiring than his prime, but he could still serve as a 1-2 punch with Shane Smith for Chicago.

āYes, Tyler Anderson is 36 years old. His best baseball is behind him. But he was also an All-Star as recently as 2024, and the metrics under the hood in 2025 weren’t all badā¦The White Sox lineup promises real results in 2026. After an offseason full of hand-wringing and advanced data analysis, it’s clear that Munetaka Murakami’s power will, in fact, play. Colson Montgomery, Kyle Teel and Edgar Quero are all exciting young talents, with more coming up through the pipeline. The Southsiders just need passable arms to get them through the 162-game gauntlet. Anderson won’t push Chicago in the World Series conversation or necessarily even the Wild Card mix, but he’s a good veteran to have in the clubhouse and a potential bridge to a brighter future,ā Kline wrote.
This past season, Anderson posted a 2-8 record, a 4.56 ERA, 104 Ks, and a WHIP of 1.408 in 136 innings pitched. However, in 2024 he earned his second All-Star nod with a record of 10-15, a 3.81 ERA, 142 Ks, and a WHIP of 1.288 in 179 innings pitched.

Heād also be cheap. His market value calls for a one-year, $7 million deal, and for the White Sox, that could be money well spent.
Hopefully, the White Sox do this, and try to make a Wild Card push, just to see if they can.
