Andy Reid Kansas City Chiefs
Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid has always been deeply respected around the NFL.
He coaches his players hard, but treats them fairly and allows their personalities to shine. When a player really earns his trust, he allows them to have creative input. Reid also sets his assistant coaches up for success and prepares them for bigger and better opportunities.
Those traits are part of why he has had such a long and decorated career. Reid finally reached the pinnacle of coaching when he won his first Super Bowl during the 2019 season. He won two more in 2022 and 2023, establishing himself as one of the greatest coaches in NFL history and likely a future Hall of Famer.
Former Kansas City Chiefs WR Skyy Moore Reveals Touching Text Message Andy Reid Sent Him After Being Traded
Moore was selected in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Chiefs. Unfortunately, he never devolved into the player they were hoping for, leading them to trade him to the San Francisco 49ers last summer. While speaking to Bill Huber of Sports Illustrated, Moore shared what Reid messaged him after being traded.
“Coach Reid, he sent me a text,” Moore told Huber. “He said this will be good for you. Sometimes a change of scenery is all you need. And he told me a story, he said, ‘When I moved from Philly to K.C., I didn’t look at it as a bad thing. He said don’t look at it as a bad thing. It could be a real pivotal part of your career. And I took that and I really ran with it because that’s exactly how I was looking at it, too. I felt kind of stuck in a way in K.C. And going to San Fran helped me get it back on the road and just put the fun back in the game. I was getting hurt a lot, and last season was my first full, healthy season in a while. I feel like it changed the trajectory of my career.”
When the Chiefs traded Skyy Moore, Andy Reid sent Moore a text.
“He said this will be good for you … and he told me a story, he said, ‘When I moved from Philly to K.C., I didn’t look at it as a bad thing.’”

Moore went on to have a successful 2025 season with the 49ers, establishing himself as one of the most productive kickoff and punt returners in the league. During the 2026 offseason he signed with the Green Bay Packers, where he’ll strive to continue to be a successful return specialist and occasional contributor at receiver.

Kansas City had a disappointing 2025 season, posting their first losing record (6-11) since Reid took over as coach in 2013. Reid shook up his coaching staff, bringing back Eric Bieniemy to once again serve as offensive coordinator, as well as hiring Chad O’Shea as wide receivers coach and DeMarco Murray as running backs coach.
Reid has a new weapon to work with in running back Kenneth Walker III, who the Chiefs signed during free agency. He will also try to work his magic with new quarterback Justin Fields, who Kansas City acquired in a trade with the New York Jets for insurance as Patrick Mahomes rehabs from his torn ACL injury.
