CONTROVERSIAL TAKE EXPLODES: Astros Boast the AL’s “Best” All-Around Offense Led by Yordan Alvarez… But This Bold Claim Is Already Sparking Fierce Debate and Dividing Fans Across Baseball!

It was disappointing to see the Houston Astros drop the first two games of their season after missing the playoffs entirely in 2025. Whenever Hunter Brown takes the mound, it needs to be a W. Instead, they were shut out.

After the first two games in which the Astros got their teeth kicked in, they have been unstoppable. Specifically, the bats. The next five games for Houston have not only all been wins, but the team has scored at least six runs in all five.

As a whole, the Astros have emerged as arguably the best all-around hitting lineup at the plate, as they rank near the top of every single stat amongst American League teams.

  • .268 Batting Average- 2nd
  • .366 On-Base Percentage- 1st
  • .464 Slugging Percentage- 1st
  • .830 OPS- 1st (only team over .800)
  • Total Hits- 1st
  • Runs Scored- 1st
  • Doubles- 1st
  • Home Runs- tied for 2nd
  • RBI- 1st
  • Stolen Bases- 1st

It is hard to overlook what this team is doing as a whole and it isn’t just Yordan Alvarez and his .417 batting average with three homers. This is a roster in its entirety.

Amongst the primary players, there isn’t someone with an OPS under .755. That is unheard of on most ballclubs right now, whether that is the American or National Leagues.

Team Hitting Leaders

Three players are hitting over .300 this season: Yordan Alvarez (.417), Christian Walker (.320), and Jose Altuve (.348). The three make up for more than half of the homers, and 16 of the team’s 39 runs batted in.

But, it isn’t just on the team that they are a highlight reel as they are performing amongst the best of them in the entire league, as well as some of their teammates.

There is a trio of Astros who sit inside the top-10 with the most RBI at this point — Alvarez, Walker, and Carlos Correa. Most doubles in the AL? Christian Walker. Third most? Issac Paredes.

Now, the Astros will be put to the test as they embark on their first road trip of the season, and a lengthy one at that. The team will head west to take on the Athletics, before traveling to Colorado to face the Rockies, and then up to the Seattle Mariners.

The Mariners stole the AL West in the final minutes of the 2025 season, so this will be quite the test to see where the Astros currently stand.
