Drake Maye had Patriots fans worried ahead of Super Bowl LX.

As New England was gearing up to face off against the Seattle Seahawks, Maye popped up on the injury report with a shoulder injury, being listed as limited in some practices. And while he continued to downplay the injury, it’s unknown if he was truly playing at 100% in that final game.

But now, after having some time to rest and rehab following the game, Patriots executive vice president of player personnel Eliot Wolf provided a very important update about the star quarterback’s health.

“He’s fine, he’s ready to go,” Wolf said during an appearance on Up & Adams. “Focusing on getting some improvement in some of the areas that we identified, and expect him to be a full participant in the off-season program.”

Drake Maye Said He Didn’t Need Offseason Surgery

After the Patriots’ loss to the Seahawks, Maye addressed reporters one final time at Gillette Stadium and was asked about the recovery plan for his shoulder and whether or not that would include surgery.

His answer: no.

“Time is the best healer,” Maye said. “I definitely just need time off. Nothing that needs anything to be done.”

The injury occurred during the AFC Championship game when Maye was hit on a 13-yard run in the third quarter, with his right shoulder getting banged up.

“My arm was feeling great all year. I don’t think throwing was the [issue]. It’s a case of having one hit in the AFC Championship Game that was unfortunate timing,” the quarterback explained. “”You can’t blame things on injuries. Things happen like this all the time in the league. I was blessed this year — what a year of health. You can’t zone in on one little thing on the shoulder — it was just unfortunate that it happened to be the throwing one.”

On March 27, Drake Maye was in attendance at the Charlotte Hornets home game against the New York Knicks, and the quarterback decided to have some fun with the crowd.

“Please welcome home to Buzz City, from Myers Park High School and the University of North Carolina, All-Pro quarterback…Drake Maye!” the Hornets PA announcer Shawn Parker said.

Right after that, Maye jumped up from his seat and began throwing footballs into the crowd.

Drake Maye and his wife recently announced that they have started a new charity: The MayeDay Family Foundation. Maye has already been very active in the community since joining the Patriots, and he will continue to do so with his new charity helping to “provide children and families enduring hardship with the assistance and support needed to achieve a brighter future.”

The two also announced an exciting event, with Drake and his teammates along with other celebrities set to compete in the inaugural Mayeday Family Foundation Celebrity Softball Classic on Sun., May 31 at Polar Park in Worcester, Mass.
