Alex Bregman is making it no secret — he wants to win as many World Series titles as possible.
The veteran third baseman is entering his 10th season in the MLB and his first with the Chicago Cubs. He’s the definition of a winner, having advanced to the postseason in every year of his nine-season career. Bregman has won two World Series titles — both with the Houston Astros — and is the career leader for the majority of major stat categories for third basemen, including home runs, runs batted in, runs scored, putouts and assists.

The objective is to help lift the Cubs over the hump and win their first World Series since 2016. Chicago had a solid season last year, going 92-70 before losing in the NLDS to the Milwaukee Brewers. Bregman said the biggest thing at this stage of his career is to win, which is a big reason why he signed with the Cubs.
“I feel like over my career, I’ve been fortunate enough to be in the playoffs every single year,” said Bregman in a one-on-one interview. “I want to be in a place where I can do that every year. There’s nothing like it. There’s nothing like playing baseball in October. You wake up every morning and just the excitement to go out to the ballpark and play against the best players in the world to compete for a championship is something that it’s hard to even describe. Obviously, I think for me, winning drives me, that’s what motivates me, and I’m excited about the opportunity here in Chicago.”
Bregman is no stranger to playing for historic franchises, having done so in his lone season with the Boston Red Sox last year. The star third baseman posted his first All-Star bid since the 2019 season, helping lead the Red Sox to the playoffs while batting .273 with a .462 slugging percentage.
Those were his best marks since the 2019 season when he finished second in AL MVP voting.

The Cubs have won just one World Series since 1909. Winning one with one of the most passionate fan bases in all of baseball would mean “everything” to Bregman.
“It would mean everything, obviously,” said Bregman. “Winning the World Series before, there’s nothing like it. Honestly, it would mean the world to me. It’s everything. It’s why I play the game. It’s why I get up in the morning and go to the ballpark is to win, and I think we have a damn good chance to do it.”

Bregman obviously knows better than anybody what it takes to win the World Series and make deep postseason runs. As mentioned before, he’s been in the playoffs every year of his career and has been in the World Series on four occasions.

He said the key for the Cubs in making a deep postseason run is the “attention to detail.”
“I think just continuing to improve off last year, just executing, executing the game plan every single day,” said Bregman. “And obviously the season doesn’t start in the postseason, we got a long way to go to get there, and we gotta go win a division first. But I think it’s just the attention to detail, the discipline for 162 games and executing and preparing the right way. I think that if you do that, you’ll be successful.”
Alex Bregman On Why He’s Partnering With Throne, Which Also Also Includes Patrick Mahomes
The three-time All-Star third baseman is partnering with Throne SPORT COFFEE, which is notable because they already have three-time Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes and Breanna Stewart on the roster. The brand stands out for its caffeine content — a big reason why Bregman favors the drink — its 10 grams of protein and because its NSF certified for sport.

“I think it’s better for you, it gets you going, keeps you going,” said Bregman. “I feel like you feel the effects. You feel good the whole day after having one. Obviously, it’s NSF certified, which we have to have for baseball. I like the flavor to be honest.”
Alex Bregman is partnering with Throne, which also includes NFL star Patrick Mahomes and WNBA star Breanna Stewart on its roster.
Throne
Bregman detailed that he was actually introduced to the drink two years ago by Throne CEO Michael Fedele and former Chicago Cubs star Anthony Rizzo.
“It’s been great honestly,” said Bregman. “Talked to him for the last two years about it. Whenever we wanted some coffee in the clubhouse, he’d send coffee in the clubhouse. Even this last World Baseball Classic, he’d send coffee our way. All the guys tried it, loved it. We had about 35 guys training with us at our facility, Nemesis, here in Scottsdale this offseason, and they just kept shipping coffees. It would run out after a week, and then just ship more and more Throne sport coffee. All the guys in there loved it, and it kind of fueled everyone’s offseason.”

Fedele detailed why having Bregman on the Throne roster is a major benefit for the brand.
“Having Alex Bregman on the Throne SPORT COFFEE roster is a major addition to the squad. Alex was a believer in the brand pre-launch, as an investor behind-the-scenes, so he has utilized Throne SPORT COFFEE consistently in his training over the past 2+ years. Alex represents consistency, preparation and elite performance, which are all core to what we stand for as a brand.”
Bregman — who is getting ready for his age-32 season — stressed the importance of using Throne throughout a 162-game season on a daily basis to stay caffeinated.
“I feel like we need caffeine to be honest,” said Bregman. “162 games out of the year it’s a grind, and every single day that consistency and that caffeine it’s good. I’d say caffeine is part of 95% of the league’s daily routine. To be able to get it from Throne Sport Coffee is really cool.”

Fedele detailed why Throne’s products are used by many athletes, including the likes of Bregman, Mahomes and Stewart.
“Our COFFEE PLUS+ formula delivers 150mg of natural caffeine, 100 percent daily value of B vitamins, and in our lattes, 10 grams of protein for recovery,” said Fedele. “Both our Premium Charged Lattes and Cold Brews are sweetened with natural cane sugar and are NSF Certified for Sport, which resonates in a major way with pro and college athletes and athletic trainers and nutritionists coast-to-coast.”
The Cubs star said he drinks Throne while heading into the ballpark and will be doing so before their regular season opener against the Washington Nationals on Thursday. Chicago wrapped up spring training in Mesa, Arizona on Tuesday and will be flying to Chicago for their opener.
“We got a 12:05 game here today (Tuesday), and we travel and then have a workout day tomorrow,” said Bregman. “Then we have opening day at home, a day game. You can guarantee that there’s a Throne Sport Coffee on me right now today and then there will be another one.”
