The Buffalo Bills were one of the teams interested in Las Vegas Raiders pass rusher Maxx Crosby during the NFL offseason, and even though Crosby says he’s still a “Raider for life,” there plenty of talk around the league that he may end his career elsewhere. If the Bills want to finally win the big game, and they do, then having an elite defensive end will only help.

In a league packed with big pass rusher names, from Aidan Hutchinson to Trey Hendrickson, it pays off to have one of the top players in the league on your squad. Now, Crosby may be more available than once thought, and he might come at a lower price, too.

For one, if the Bills trade for Crosby, they’ll likely not have to give up two first-round picks after the player failed his physical with the Baltimore Ravens. That’s good news, but now, some of Crosby’s latest comments are giving NFL teams new hope, including the Bills, that he’ll be available at some point.

Las Vegas Raiders and Maxx Crosby May Be Willing to Part Ways

Let’s listen to Crosby’s actual words on this situation. On the Tuesday, March 17 episode of his podcast, “The Rush With Maxx Crosby,” he discussed what went down during the offseason. During his pod, he said that “the whole situation was probably one of the most unique, crazy, wild, up-and-down roller coasters I’ve ever been a part of.”

Crosby said that after doing the physical and getting a strange reaction from the Las Vegas Raiders’ powers at be, he called his surgeon, because he was worried. He described the talk, stating, “He’s like, ‘Your knee is great. You’re exactly where you’re supposed to be or even ahead of schedule.’ He’s like, ‘You’re doing everything right. They know you had your surgery nine weeks ago.’”

Elsewhere, Crosby made a stunning comment regarding his future with the Raiders. He said that he’s a Raider “for life,” be even he admitted he wasn’t sure. “Until that changes — which I don’t foresee. Honestly, you never know in this … league,” he said. “I found that out for sure. I just feel like I’m meant to be a Raider.”

NFL Insider Also Gives Update on Maxx Crosby Status

The NFL experts and analysts are also weighing in. In a Monday, March 23 piece for SI, Albert Breer also talked Crosby. He said that he believes Crosby will start the 2026-27 season in Las Vegas but may be traded closer to the trade deadline.

“If there’s a window to trade Crosby, it’s probably closer to the trade deadline,” he states in the piece. “As we’ve established, it wouldn’t make sense for Vegas to sell low here.” He added, “But if Crosby plays well, and the Raiders are struggling through a rebuild in late October, then all of this can be revisited. It’s not like there wouldn’t be a market then, if things play out that way.”

So, if the Bills want to take their defense to the next level, they should still have Crosby on their radar, even if a trade doesn’t happen until later this year.
