UPDATE: The deal is official.

The #SFGiants and left-handed pitcher Ryan Borucki have agreed to terms on a one-year Major League contract.

Before their matchup with the Yankees, Robert Murray of FanSided reported the news that the team is signing another pitcher.

Murray wrote: “Sources: Left-hander Ryan Borucki and the Giants are in agreement on a major-league deal.

Borucki drew strong interest from over half the league earlier this winter. He signed with the White Sox this offseason and opted out after not being added to the roster. He drew strong interest once again and lands in San Francisco, who tried signing him earlier this winter. @JonHeyman first mentioned it was close.”

The 31-year-old has spent eight seasons in the MLB with the Pirates, Mariners and Blue Jays.

He has gone 15-12 with a 4.28 ERA in 187 games .

Jeff Young of Around The Foghorn added: “Ryan Borucki was just released by the White Sox. He has pitched to a 4.34 ERA in parts of 8 seasons. His best year came in 2018. Another lefty reliever, which makes me a little concerned about the status of Sam Hentges. They have quite a few lefty options now.”
