Walt Weiss has made a crucial lineup decision.
The Atlanta Braves are starting to make their final decision on who will be on the Opening Day roster. With several players being reassigned yesterday, including JR Ritchie, the gap is closing on who will make the cut.
According to ESPNās Jeff Passan, Didier Fuentes has made the Opening Day roster for the Atlanta Braves and will serve as a bullpen piece. The 20-year-old, hard-throwing righty has been a standout pitcher for all of spring training. His numbers almost became undeniable, but itās important to note that Fuentes was brought up kinda prematurely last season, and it didnāt age well. This go around, the circumstances are much different.

Bravesā Didier Fuentes to Make Opening Day Roster

GettyWalt Weiss has made a big announcement.
With the announcement that Didier Fuentes will be on the Braves Opening Day roster, itās a good chance to reflect on the dominant spring heās had thus far.
Fuentes has faced 27 total batters (nine innings), and only allowed one baserunner to reach first (via HBP). He also recorded 17 strikeouts and did not walk a single batter.
His stuff is very apparent as being lively and dominant, but the main concern with Didier Fuentes last season, during his brief stint with the Braves last season, was his control.
In four starts and 13 total innings with the Braves last season, Fuentes walked six batters, but struck out 12 in his limited opportunities. As a 19-year-old, it was clear that he should not have been propelled to the big-league level as he had been. Still, heās totally earned this opportunity to be included in the Braves bullpen, and it will be interesting to see how manager Walt Weiss uses him in the early stages of the 2026 season.

Atlantaās Bullpen Could be Finalized
With Didier Fuentes being a part of the Braves bullpen to start the season, it feels like Atlantaās relief corps is pretty much finished. Raisel Iglesias, Joel Payamps, Tyler Kinley, Robert Suarez, Daysbel Hernandez, and Fuentes will be the right-handers. Dylan Lee, Aaron Bummer, Ā and potentially Ray Kerr will round out the southpaw options.
Thereās been a slew of news surrounding the Atlanta Braves in the last few days, as the same can be said for all 30 MLB teams.
Atlantaās first game is in less than a week, against the Kansas City Royals, and Chris Sale will get the Opening Day nod. The Braves already have their main pieces in mind for who will be featured in the starting lineup, but expect Weiss to start announcing who will be hitting where shortly as spring training comes to an end.
