The Buffalo Bills just picked up the phone and made what could be one of the scariest calls in the entire NFL this offseason.
According to insider Ryan Talbot of Buffalo Bills News, the team has officially reached out to former Cincinnati Bengals All-Pro edge rusher Trey Hendrickson. And yes — the reports are true. Buffalo is in the mix for one of the most dominant pass rushers of the past five years.
This move comes at a critical time for the Bills. Under new head coach Joe Brady and defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard, the team is making the switch from a 4-3 base defense to a 3-4 scheme. Unfortunately, two of their top edge rushers — former All-Pro Joey Bosa and ex-second round pick A.J. Epenesa — are both set to hit free agency this week when the new league year begins.
The pair failed to deliver big production in 2025, combining for just 7.5 sacks all season. For a team with Super Bowl aspirations and a superstar quarterback in Josh Allen, that level of pass rush simply won’t cut it.

The 31-year-old defensive end has been an absolute nightmare for quarterbacks throughout his career. He exploded for 17.5 sacks in both 2023 and 2024, earning First-Team All-Pro honors and four Pro Bowl selections. Even after an injury-shortened 2025 campaign where he played just 7 games and recorded only 4 sacks, Hendrickson remains one of the most explosive, technically sound, and feared quarterback hunters in football.

After years of rocky contract negotiations with the Bengals, Hendrickson is finally set to hit the open market and find a new home. Multiple teams are already showing strong interest, but the fact that Buffalo reached out early signals how serious they are about adding top-tier talent to chase that elusive Super Bowl for the first time in the Josh Allen era.
Imagine Hendrickson lined up in Jim Leonhard’s new 3-4 defense, pinning his ears back and hunting AFC quarterbacks week in and week out. Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and the rest of the conference should be very concerned right now.
This isn’t just another depth signing. This is the type of move that changes a defense overnight, turns Orchard Park into a nightmare for visiting offenses, and puts the entire AFC on notice.
BillsMafia, get ready. The most feared quarterback hunter in the NFL might be heading to Buffalo — and he’s coming back with a vengeance to destroy everything in his path.
Stay locked in. This situation is developing fast, and if the Bills can close the deal, the AFC East (and the whole conference) just got a whole lot scarier.
