Boston fans can feel an announcement coming … or they’re just bored

The New York Post’s Jon Heyman continued to churn the rumor mill Friday when he reported that all of the suitors except the Los Angeles Dodgers had bids of over $700 million. Soto reportedly won’t go to the highest bidder, but it is a baseline teams are willing to go to as they may or may not be asking for additional meetings depending on which reports you believe.
Soto is expected to decide on a team at some point during next week’s MLB winter meetings, but fans are anxious and can’t wait. That’s why when broadcaster Mike Rodriguez posted a picture of a person who appears to be Soto at a dinner table, a frenzy ensued on social media.
Eagle-eyed fans believe Scott Boras is also among the four people at the table along with other members of Soto’s representation. So don’t worry fans, the 26-year-old wasn’t spotted with another team’s executive.
Instead, it allowed people to post a bunch of memes while they eagerly waited for the All-Star to decide where he wanted to sign. It is a warning to watch out for any photoshopped images or any other unverified information about Soto.
