The 2024 NFL season has been all about player development and roster evaluation for New England Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo and the organization.

Mayo was tapped to lead the franchise after it parted with Bill Belichick, and he has his hands full trying to right the ship after a few years of losing.

New England is banking on the development of Drake Maye to become its new franchise quarterback.

Meanwhile, the rest of the offense could use some work, as the offensive line and receiving corps are in dire need of upgrades.

So far, rookie receiver Ja’Lynn Polk has yet to make the impact the Patriots were hoping for after they selected him in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

In fact, Polk reportedly is one of the worst-graded wide receivers in the history of PFF.

The rookie from the University of Washington was touted as a dependable route runner with sure hands, two factors that would help Maye as he learns an NFL-style offense.

However, Polk has struggled whenever he has taken the field and has seen a dip in his snap counts. He has 12 receptions for 87 yards in 12 games this season.

Polk is young enough to get on track in the NFL, and it’ll be interesting to see if he can make some noise down the stretch this season.
