The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of several teams that will be in the quarterback market once the new league year begins on March 11th. With Aaron Rodgers’ future still up in the air, Pittsburgh will have to look elsewhere for a signal-caller in 2026 should Rodgers decide to retire or explore other options.

The consensus top quarterback in this year’s free agency class is Malik Willis. The former third-round pick of the Tennessee Titans has established himself as one of the league’s top backups over the last two years, backing up Jordan Love with the Green Bay Packers. In 11 games, he’s thrown six touchdowns and no interceptions while adding three scores on the ground.

Should the Steelers want to sign Willis, Jordan Schultz reports it will cost them a pretty penny.

“Packers free agent QB Malik Willis is in demand, as expected, and interested teams I’ve spoken to at the Combine in Indianapolis believe him getting at least $30M per year is a foregone conclusion,” Schultz reports.

For reference, Justin Fields was given a two-year, $40 million deal with the New York Jets last offseason with $30 million guaranteed. With the scarcity at the position, it looks like Willis will benefit from a thin pool of talent.
