Taylor Swift posted a new Instagram carousel on Monday, February 23.
“Just a few Opalite memories to celebrate the Hot 100 #1 you guys just got this song!!” Her caption began.
She shared an intimate look at the making of “Opalite,” including behind-the-scenes clips from her recording sessions.
Taylor Swift is rarely seen without her signature red lip and winged eyeliner, but on Monday, she went bare-faced to celebrate her 14th Billboard Hot 100 number one. In a new Instagram carousel, the singer gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at the making of “Opalite.”
Swift’s post included a makeup-free video of herself during a recording session, as well as two clips from the set of her “Opalite” music video.
“Just a few Opalite memories to celebrate the Hot 100 #1 you guys just got this song!!” Swift’s caption began.
“I can’t even sum up my excitement and I’m so blown away by the love you’ve shown this song and video. To put this into perspective… This is actually the first time I’ve had two Hot 100 #1s off of one album since my album 1989 came out in 2014, nearly twelve years ago!” She added.
“I know that’s a lot of numbers but it all adds up to me being so thankful to the fans who helped make this happen by welcoming this song into your lives with open arms. Seriously bouncing off the walls about this!! Just wanted to say THANK YOU, might go buy a giant pretzel at the mall to celebrate, iykyk 🥨🌵🪨,” Swift concluded.
Earlier this month, the pop star revealed that she and her fiancé, Travis Kelce, have the same taste in music. In an Instagram Stories post, Swift credited Kelce with coordinating a new “Opalite” remix, created by one of their favorite rising artists.
It all started when music producer Chris Lake screenshotted his direct messages with Kelce, uploading them as part of a joint Instagram carousel with the athlete. The exchange revealed that Kelce and Swift were fans of his music, with Lake later sharing his remix of her song “Opalite.”
“She loves it too!!” Kelce said to Lake, referencing Swift. “She said her teams gonna reach out asap!”
“(Don’t worry I got Travis’ permission to post these :)),” Lake wrote in his caption.
