“All That Stuff Is Pretty Overrated” – Green Bay Packers’ Matt LaFleur Gets 100% Honest On The Unintentional Leak Of The Detroit Lions’ Play Calls

The Green Bay Packers may already have the edge ahead of their much-awaited NFC North clash against the Detroit Lions after Jahmyr Gibbs accidentally leaked their game plan. The Detroit Lions running back posted a Snapchat video of Jermar Jefferson with the team’s play codes visible on the big whiteboard.

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs (26) runs against Atlanta Falcons during the second half at Ford Field in Detroit on Sunday, Sept. 24, 2023.

While Gibbs’ post made rounds on the internet, Matt LaFleur offered a nonchalant response when it was brought up during his recent press conference.

“All that stuff is pretty overrated. I’m sure our guys aren’t going to sit there and study every code word they have in their offense. I mean, you can get this stuff in the TV copies. I mean, there are certain things you can pick up off the TV copies,” LaFleur stated.

“That’s why most teams, I would say probably every team in the league listens to what they’re putting out there as well as what the opponent is putting out there and try to piece it together,” he added.

To LaFleur’s point, the Green Bay Packers have already done their homework against the Detroit Lions given their resources. It all boils down to which team executes their game plan better.

Dan Campbell is not worried about the Green Bay Packers

Meanwhile, Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell is not overly anxious about the leak, as he even joked about it with Jahmyr Gibbs. According to the 48-year-old tactician, his team will “be fine” against the Green Bay Packers.

“I don’t really give a crap,” Campbell said via Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. “If we’re going to lose because of code words then we’re not good enough anyway. So I think we’ll just post the whole fricking playbook out there and every code word we’ve got. And it doesn’t matter. It’s not going to hurt us, it won’t affect us and it’s all good.”

“We’re fine,” Campbell added. “As a matter of fact I joked at him (Jahmyr Gibbs) about it yesterday, I messed with him, so it’s good. I’m not even worried about it.”
