The Pittsburgh Steelers have a need at wide receiver and the Chicago Bears might have one available for trade.
In an article making bold predictions for the offseason, YardBarker’s Seth Trachtman has the Bears trading wide receiver DJ Moore to the Steelers.”Moore didn’t have his best season in 2025, and seemed to check out at times,” he said. “The writing could be on the wall for a trade as the Bears lean into younger options, and the Steelers are among the teams desperate for wide receiver help.”
Moore posted a phenomenal showing in his first season with the Bears in 2023, but his production has dipped in each of the past two seasons.
That dip directly correlates with the Bears drafting Caleb Williams, which shows he and Moore do not have good chemistry, for whatever reason.
With the Bears having a promising trio of young pass-catchers in Rome Odunze, Luther Burden and Colston Loveland, that makes keeping Moore’s $110 million contract on the books even less tenable.
Pittsburgh has been the poster boy for wide receiver needs in recent years.
After failing to support George Pickens with a viable No. 2 wide receiver in 2024, the Steelers did the same to DK Metcalf in 2025.
The hope is that there will be a bigger sense of urgency this year after the Steelers hired an offensive-minded head coach in Mike McCarthy.
Moore would be a great addition for the Steelers and a massive upgrade from the practice-squad-level players Pittsburgh has been running out there in recent years.
As far as trade compensation is concerned, Moore isn’t likely to cost much given the fact that the Steelers would have to take on his contract. We could see the Steelers nabbing Moore for an early Day 3 pick, at most.
There hasn’t been any confirmation that the Bears will indeed move Moore in 2026, but it’s not crazy to think it could happen. If it does, general manager Omar Khan should be breaking down the door to acquire him.
