🚨 GIANTS BOMBSHELL: San Francisco Pushed Into Aggressive $56 Million Trade Pursuit – Desperate Move to Finally End Years of Rotation Misery!

San Francisco Giants Pushed To Consider Aggressive $56 Million Trade

The San Francisco Giants were called the “best trade fit” for St. Louis Cardinals All-Star Brendan Donovan.

Buster Posey and the San Francisco Giants have not had the kind of MLB offseason that fans were hoping to see.

Over the last couple of years, the Giants have been unable to be a top-tier contender in the National League. Fans were hoping that San Francisco would swing big this offseason to get itself back to being a contender in 2026.

While the Giants haven’t made any “flashy” moves, they have been able to add some quality pieces.

Among the offseason additions have been right-handed pitcher Tyler Mahle on a one-year, $10 million deal, right-hander Adrian Houser on a two-year, $22 million deal, outfielder Harrison Bader on a two-year, $20.5 million contract, and second baseman Luis Arraez on a one-year, $12 million deal.

Those are all quality moves, but San Francisco could still use a lot of help on the starting pitching front.

Keeping that in mind, one blockbuster suggestion has been made for the Giants late in the offseason.

San Francisco Giants Urged to Consider $56 Million Trade Option

There is an intriguing trade target that San Francisco could consider pursuing. That option is none other than Miami Marlins starter Sandy Alcantara.

Alcantara has been heavily involved in the MLB rumor mill over the last couple of years. Whether or not the Marlins would have interest in trading him after moving both Edward Cabrera and Ryan Weathers remains to be seen.

FanSided’s Christopher Kline was the one who suggested the potential move for the Giants.

“The Giants would love a solid No. 3 behind Logan Webb and Robbie Ray in the rotation. Alcántara is a sinkerballer like Valdez, only with a lot more zip (and a bit more inconsistency, of course),” Kline wrote.

“His metrics were down across the board in 2025, but his velocity stayed up after a major injury, so there’s real hope here. Miami’s phone lines are open, clearly.”

San Francisco needs help in the rotation. Alcantara has had some consistency issues throughout his career, but he’s the kind of piece that could round out the Giants’ rotation perfectly.

What Would Sandy Alcantara Bring to the Table for San Francisco?

Looking at his 2025 season, there are reasons that some are cautious about a potential trade for Alcantara.

He made 31 starts throughout the course of the year, compiling an 11-12 record to go along with a 5.36 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, 2.5 K/BB ratio, and 174.2 innings pitched.

Back in 2022, the 30-year-old pitcher put together a masterful season. He went 14-9 in 32 starts with a 2.28 ERA, a 0.98 WHIP, a 4.1 K/BB ratio, and 228.2 innings of work completed. If he could get back to those numbers, he’s capable of being a No. 1 rotation piece.

At this point in time, there have been no reports about what kind of value Miami would be asking for in return. Alcantara may not even be available.

That being said, this is a very interesting potential option for San Francisco to consider.
