Travis Kelce completed his 13th season with the Kansas City Chiefs, and at age 36, he remained productive, recording 76 catches for 851 yards and five touchdowns. However, for just the second time in his NFL career, Kelce missed the playoffs when the Chiefs finished the 2025 season with a 6-11 record.
Now, Kelce sees his two-year, $34.25 million contract with Kansas City come to an end, making him an unrestricted free agent entering the offseason. However, it remains unclear whether he will return for a 14th NFL season as the former Cincinnati Bearcats tight end weighs his retirement decision.
While the Chiefs continue to adjust their coaching staff for the 2026 season, 28 teams have already been eliminated from Super Bowl contention, with only four remaining. And this weekend, the Denver Broncos will host the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game, while the Seattle Seahawks host the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game.
But Kelce appears more intrigued by the NFC matchup, especially with Broncos quarterback Bo Nix out for the remainder of the playoffs because of an ankle injury. In the most recent episode of his podcast, “New Heights,” the Chiefs star and his brother, Jason Kelce, welcomed Fox Sports commentator Greg Olsen as a special guest before Travis Kelce revealed his Super Bowl pick, choosing the winner of the NFC championship.
“So, we got Rams, Seahawks,” Travis Kelce said (57:42). “It just feels like that’s going to be the game that, you know, the team that goes on is going to win the Super Bowl, man. It just feels like both those teams, the Rams having that veteran presence, that ‘we’ve done it before, we’ve got the guys.’ And then the Seahawks of like this new magic and and Sam Darnold playing his tail off and the run game and the excitement and the juice. It just feels like right now the NFC is cooking, man.”
Conference championship weekend will kick off Sunday, starting with Broncos vs. Patriots at 3 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+ and ending with Seahawks vs. Rams at 6:30 p.m. ET on Fox and the Fox Sports app. The winners will go on to Santa Clara, California, for the Super Bowl on Feb. 8.
