COMING SOON: Orioles Corbin Burnes Predicted To Land Seven-Year, $210 Million Mega Deal

Outside of Juan Soto, Baltimore Orioles ace Corbin Burnes is the top player in free agency.

For the first few weeks of the offseason, Burnes’ value was expected to be very high given his talent, age, and consistency.

And after Blake Snell signed a five-year, $182 million deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Burnes’ value has likely only gone up. It wouldn’t be surprising at all to see Burnes clear the $200 million threshold with relative ease.

Jon Heyman of the New York Post expects Burnes to top the $200 million mark. Heyman recently predicted Burnes to sign a seven-year, $210 million deal, but even that number might be a bit low.

“One of the most consistent, durable starters around. He didn’t pitch for strikeouts this year but was just as effective.

The Orioles will try to keep him, but it will probably be hard with at least the (New York) Yankees, (New York) Mets, and other big teams involved,” Heyman wrote. “All the high-revenue AL East teams plus the (San Francisco) Giants and Dodgers are expected to play for the Southern California product. $210 million, 7 years.”

While the money is fun to look into, it’s the suitors that are more important.

Heyman notes the high-revenue AL East teams, likely meaning the Yankees, Red Sox, and Blue Jays. Obviously, the Orioles are a contender to sign him.

Heyman also mentioned the Giants and Dodgers, with the Dodgers being the real surprise here. Out of the teams listed, it’s just the Orioles who might not be able to afford Heyman’s predicted $210 million contract.

The other five, including the Dodgers, could send him $210 million over seven years this winter.

The Mets absolutely shouldn’t be counted out here either, especially if they miss on Juan Soto.
