The San Francisco 49ers provided massive injury updates prior to their matchup against the Buffalo Bills.
The Buffalo Bills will look to clinch the AFC East on Sunday with a win against the San Francisco 49ers in what’s expected to be a snowy night in Orchard Park.
On the injury front, the Bills already announced prior to the game that starting tight end Dalton Kincaid will be out as he continues to recover from a knee injury. However, the team could get linebacker Matt Milano and receiver Keon Coleman back in the lineup.
Meanwhile, the 5-6 49ers are dealing with massive injury struggles. All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams, Defensive Player of the Year Nick Bosa, cornerback Deommodore Lenoir, left guard Aaron Banks and defensive tackle Jordan Elliot are all out for the pivotal primetime matchup.
With San Francisco’s best offensive lineman and best defensive lineman both out on Sunday, the Bills have the chance to dominate in the trenches on both sides of the ball.
On the positive side for San Francisco, quarterback Brock Purdy, who was inactive in Week 12 with a shoulder injury, is expected to be active on Sunday night, according to coach Kyle Shanahan.
“Lots of things can happen between now and then, but right now he’s playing,” said Shanahan.
Purdy’s status would have a massive impact on the outcome of the game. Backup quarterback Brandon Allen, who started in Purdy’s absence, struggled against the Green Bay Packers. Allen finished with 199 passing yards, one touchdown and one interception, and the 49ers’ offense scored just 10 points.
