The Green Bay Packers are out of the NFL Playoffs following their humiliating collapse against the Chicago Bears on Saturday night. And while the offense stalled in the second half due to conservative play-calling, it is hard to ignore the fact they still put up 27 points and that seven points were left on the field due to missed kicks by Brandon McManus.
Indeed, regardless of what changes are made (or not made) in terms of coaching and offensive personnel, it appears clear that quarterback Jordan Love and his wide receivers (along with running back Josh Jacobs) form a good base for 2026.
This is an especially encouraging statement in terms of the wide receiver position, one that struggled to find an identity and consistent production following the departure of Davante Adams after the 2021 season.
Former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams made NFL history in 2025

Adams, of course, requested a trade away from the Packers following a 2021 NFL season that saw him put up one of the greatest single year performances in franchise history. He had 123 receptions for 1,553 and 11 touchdowns, with his receptions and yards totals remaining as team records.
The previous season, in 2020, he tied the franchise record for receiving touchdowns in a season with 18.
But following his departure from Green Bay, Adams has had a roller coaster of a career. Not, that is, in terms of personal on-the-field success, but rather in terms of the quality of organization with which he was playing.
Fans are well-familiar with the fact that Adams was traded away by the Las Vegas Raiders, upon is request, after a tumultuous tenure that saw him lead the NFL in touchdown receptions in 2022, but saw his new team struggle internally and on the field.
Following his half-season stint reunited with Aaron Rodgers on the New York Jets, Adams signed with the Los Angeles Rams this past offseason, and has once again proven that he is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL.
This year, Adams had 60 receptions for 789 yards while playing in 14 games (he missed three games with an injury). He also had 14 touchdown receptions, the most in the NFL, making him the first player in league history to lead the NFL in that category while playing for three different teams:

Adams’ 18 touchdowns with the Packers in 2020 led the NFL that season. He had 14 with the Raiders in 2022 to lead the league, and his 14 this year with the Rams, as mentioned, also topped all pass catchers.
In Los Angeles’ 34-31 win over the Carolina Panthers this weekend, Adams had five receptions for 72 yards. Now, he and his team will face the Bears, a team the former Packers great is well-familiar with, and one can be sure the Green Bay faithful will be pulling for him once again.
