🔥 STRONG SUPPORT: Chris Olave Stands Up for Spencer Rattler, Says He Deserves a Shot Elsewhere! What Does This Bold Statement Mean for Rattler’s Career and Future?

Spencer Rattler is many things, but one thing that he shouldn’t be is a backup quarterback in the National Football League. While Rattler’s time leading the New Orleans Saints came to an end this year, Chris Olave believes Rattler should get another chance elsewhere.

The Saints star said that he straight up doesn’t believe that Rattler is a backup quarterback in the NFL. “In this world nowadays, people always want to point the finger at somebody when something is going wrong. I feel like Spencer did a great job when he was back there starting,” Olave said to the media. “He deserves another opportunity to be able to be a starting quarterback in this league. I don’t feel like there are 32 quarterbacks better than him.”

The 2024 fifth-round draft pick has only won one game in his 15 starts with the New Orleans Saints. In his first opportunity to be a starting quarterback in the NFL, Rattler gathered 2,903 passing yards for 12 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

He also gathered 313 rushing yards in his first 15 starts. Additionally, in his rookie season, he broke Archie Manning’s single-season passing yards record by a Saints rookie quarterback, making it his record that Tyler Shough broke this year.

Saints QB Spencer Rattler is sure to have opportunities to play elsewhere

With the way the NFL runs, there are bound to be some more opportunities for Spencer Rattler to be a starting quarterback in the NFL. Some might even be this year; Just look at a team like the Indianapolis Colts, who have started the past eight seasons with a different quarterback at the helm. There’s also a team like the Minnesota Vikings.

They’ve said they’re still behind J.J. McCarthy, might still look elsewhere for their starter in 2026.

Then there’s the Miami Dolphins, who have all but cut Tua Tagovailoa from their roster. There’s no way he (Tua) is starting in Miami next year, so why not Rattler? Surely he can compete with 2025 seventh-round draft pick Quinn Ewers.

It’s also just the beginning of the offseason, so there is plenty of time for the number of teams that might be interested in the Saints’ backup to have an opening. If he doesn’t find another starting gig, Rattler will surely be welcomed back to the Crescent City.
