Steelers signing veteran WR to active roster

The Pittsburgh Steelers are signing wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling to their active roster, per Gerry Dulac.

“Steelers are going to sign WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling to the 53-man roster,” Dulac reports on X. “MVS was going to be elevated from the practice squad for tonight’s game, which would’ve been his second of three allotted ‘elevations.’”

MVS made his Steelers’ debut in Week 14 against the Baltimore Ravens in Pittsburgh’s 27-22 win. He didn’t make a catch in the 16 snaps he played, but it is clear the Steelers are trying a new approach out wide, going with proven veterans over unproven younger players such as Roman Wilson.
The Steelers will take on the Miami Dolphins on Monday night. Should they win, they will improve to 8-6 and remain a full game ahead of the Ravens in the AFC North standings. If they lose, both the Steelers and Ravens will be 7-7 going into Week 16.
