🚨 INSIDE REVEAL: Andy Reid finally opened up about the emotional atmosphere inside the Chiefs locker room after the season came to an end against the Chargers, and his words quietly exposed a mix of pride, frustration, and unfinished business that hints this ending may linger far longer than anyone expected.

The Kansas City Chiefs have officially been eliminated from playoff contention in Week 15 after a 16-13 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium.

In what was a tough defensive slugfest, the Chiefs couldn’t get over the line, and what makes it even worse is that as Kansas City was driving late to either tie or win the game, Patrick Mahomes injured his left knee.

That sent Gardner Minshew in, and he was intercepted, ending the game and taking any hope of a playoff spot with it.

And speaking post-game, head coach Andy Reid was asked about the mood in the locker room, and it was as you would expect.

“Guys are down, they busted their butt to win the game,” Reid said. “I wouldn’t expect anything less, so it’s not a great feeling, I wouldn’t expect it to be after losing a game.”

Chiefs face anxious wait on Mahomes injury

The images of Patrick holding his knee on the ground during the broadcast weren’t good, and with Reid stating that his quarterback will get an MRI to assess the extent of the damage, he added that it “didn’t look good,” and the Chiefs will hope it’s nothing serious.

Losing Mahomes for the final three games is neither here nor there as the Chiefs are out of playoff contention, but the franchise won’t want this to be a long-term injury, as that would just be devastating.

So, the Chiefs have to contend with seeing their season end and their franchise star hobble off injured in what was a dirty day all around.

Now we anxiously await to see the extent of Mahomes’ injury.
