Taylor Swift is at the Kansas City Chiefs game to cheer on her soon-to-be husband, Travis Kelce, and she’s causing a stir.
Taylor Swift was at the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers game at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday, December 14, and she attended in Travis Kelce’s special suite, staying warm. Spotted along with Swift in the suite was her mom, Andrew, her soon-to-be mother-in-law Donna Kelce and her future sister-in-law Kylie Kelce, along with Kylie’s daughters.
The Chiefs entered the game with a 6-7 record and just a 13% chance of making it to the postseason, according to NFL research, so this game was critical. Unfortunately, the Chiefs lost to the Chargers in a 16-13 final score, so they’re out of the playoffs for the first time in the Patrick Mahomes era.
The temperatures at Arrowhead Stadium were unseasonably cold, even for December, with highs only in the mid-20s and wind chills much lower than that. But, Swift and her crew were toasty warm once they were in the suite and ready to cheer on what they hoped would be a victory for Kelce. While many eyes were on the Chiefs during the showdown, other eyes drifted to Swift, who drew attention for one particular reason.
Taylor Swift Draws Attention and Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers Game
At the game, Swift drew a lot of attention for, of all things, her outfit. “Her Kansas City Chiefs versus Los Angeles Chargers outfit, however, couldn’t go completely unnoticed by other fans in the vicinity,” Marie Claire notes in a Sunday, December 14, piece about Swift attending the game.
“A glimpse at Swift carrying one of Kelce’s daughters across the suite was all this fashion editor needed to ID her hero piece as Ulla Johnson’s Ambrose coat,” they add. Going to the site, it retails at nearly $1,400.
What’s smart is that this coat is a good color choice to cheer on the Chiefs. “The Ulla Johnson select remixes the Chiefs’ colors into a three-gradient ombré design, shifting from a dusty yellow to burgundy and, eventually, cherry red,” Marie Claire notes of the piece. “Little else of Taylor Swift’s Chiefs vs. Chargers outfit could be seen from afar—but if the Chiefs manage to win, more photos will likely surface.”
Swift also, of course, wore her diamond engagement ring, which was designed by Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine.
Taylor Swift Also Celebrated a Milestone at Kansas City Chiefs Game
Swift was at the game during her birthday weekend, since she turned 36 years old on Saturday, December 13. The singer got a birthday gift on her big day in the form of her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” which she dropped on October 3, going from No. 3 back up to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. The chart tracks the most listened-to albums in the U.S. in all genres, looking at both sales and streaming activity.
According to Luminate data, “The Life of a Showgirl” went up 99,300 equivalent units for the week, which is up 12% from the week prior. That number was enough to move Swift back up to the top spot on the chart.
Now, Swift will have to comfort Kelce after the playoff elimination, and the two will have to talk about whether he’s ready to retire after this season or wants one more go at a championship.
