The New England Patriots fell to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday 34-15 at Hard Rock Stadium to move to 3-9 on the season, the first under head coach Jerod Mayo.
While there has been talk about the surprisingly upbeat nature of the locker room in South Florida after the loss, there are still plenty of veterans who are feeling the pains of the results week after week.
One of them is defensive lineman Davon Godchaux, who didn’t hold back about his thoughts on his team’s performance.
“It’s embarrassing,” Godchaux said (via. MassLive’s Chris Mason). “It’s a tough pill to swallow, but you’ve gotta swallow it because you’ve gotta change the page after you watch the film. We’ll watch it. It’s kinda shocking to me too being down 24-0 at halftime.”
The 30-year-old isn’t wrong. The first half felt like rock bottom for New England. Nothing went right, and it was tough to watch. It has to feel even worse to be on the field and unable to get things trending in the right direction again.
However, if the Patriots don’t show signs of life, players, coaches and front-office personnel may find themselves out of jobs in 2025.
