The New York Yankees came up short of their postseason goals in 2025, falling to the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALDS. Despite the disappointing finish, much of New York’s offensive core remains intact heading into 2026. That group ranked as MLB’s best offense during the regular season, averaging 5.2 runs per game.
One of those key contributors is second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr., who delivered an outstanding year in the Bronx. Chisholm became a member of the exclusive 30/30 club, swiping 31 bases and hitting 31 home runs to showcase his elite blend of speed and power.

The 27-year-old left-handed slugger finished the season with a .242 batting average, .332 on-base percentage and an .813 OPS across 130 games.
Off the field, Chisholm’s offseason has been eventful on a personal level as well. This weekend, he took to social media to announce his engagement to his partner, Ahnalys Santiago.
In a collaborative post on Instagram, the couple shared a slideshow of vacation photos together, smiling and celebrating the next chapter.

The caption read, “Da Parents 🩵🩵 See yall at our wedding next year💍,” a playful nod to their future plans that quickly drew attention.
As Chisholm celebrates this milestone away from the diamond, his focus will eventually return to baseball, where 2026 looms as a pivotal year. It marks his final season under contract before becoming an unrestricted free agent, unless the Yankees elect to re-sign him long term.
Given the success he has had in his MLB career, that would be a wise move. Originally debuting with the Miami Marlins in 2020, Chisholm has since earned two All-Star selections and a Silver Slugger Award across six seasons in the big leagues.

He has developed into a reliable presence, combining speed, power and defensive versatility, and replacing his production with another player would be highly unlikely.
For the Yankees, the decision on Chisholm’s future carries significant weight. His breakout 30/30 campaign in 2025 showcased the kind of dynamic skill set that few players in the league possess, and his ability to energize both the clubhouse and the fan base makes him more than just a statistical contributor.
With his personal life taking a joyful step forward and his professional career entering a defining stage, Chisholm’s 2026 season has the potential to be one of the most impactful of his career, both for himself and for the Yankees’ long-term plans.
