The Green Bay Packers just made a roster change, particularly in the wide receiver room, just before their huge Week 14 matchup at Lambeau Field against the Chicago Bears.
According to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic , Green Bay has parted ways with wide receiver Malik Heath.
“Packers also released WR Malik Heath and claimed DL Quinton Bohanna from the Seahawks,” Schneidman posted in a social media post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
This move by Green Bay comes on the heels of their activation of wide receiver Jayden Reed from the injured reserve. Reed had not seen action since Green Bay’s Week 2 home win over the Washington Commanders, but he’s apparently already recovered from the surgeries he had in his shoulder and foot.
What’s next for Heath after Packers release?

The 25-year-old Heath had not really made a big impact on Green Bay’s offense, even during Reed’s lengthy absence.
In 11 appearances in the 2025 NFL regular season, the former Ole Miss Rebels wideout racked up just 86 receiving yards on six receptions and seven targets. In his most recent appearance on the field, he failed to reel in the only target he saw in Week 13’s 31-24 Packers win on Thanksgiving Day at Ford Field against the Detroit Lions.
If Heath clears waivers without getting claimed, he could be a potential practice squad addition for the Packers, who are entering Week 14 carrying an 8-3-1 NFL record.
The 25-year-old Heath went undrafted at the 2023 NFL Draft but was later signed by Green Bay and made the team’s 53-man roster cut for that year’s NFL season.
