The Boston Red Sox might have to reimburse starting pitcher Sonny Gray.

Gray, who was acquired in a trade with the St. Louis Cardinals on Nov. 25, went out and made a new purchase immediately after hearing about the trade — which he wore during his introductory press conference on Tuesday.

“I think it’ll probably be beneficial for me and my family and my future to go to a different situation, a different organization,” Gray said, as shared by NESN. “I bought this hat when I got traded over to Boston, and that’s obviously where I’m at in my career.”

Gray’s new lid can probably be found in any frat house in New England, as it looks impressively worn in for one that had been purchased within the week and features the logo of every young man’s favorite butt-kicking — the 2007 World Series.

Gray’s press conference featured plenty of fun anecdotes, including an incredibly bold statement about his own abilities and some words of hatred for the New York Yankees.
