Braves News: Ken Rosenthal On Braves Offseason, Season Reviews, More

Both in the Athletic and on his show, Fair Territory, Ken Rosenthal discussed the Braves offseason on Monday. His main focus was on why the Braves were cutting costs in expected and unexpected ways so far, a stark contrast from last offseason. One reason for this that Rosenthal mentioned is that the Braves could be looking to get under the luxury tax for this upcoming season.

While that may be the case, he also discussed Spencer Strider and Ronald Acuna Jr. not being ready to start the season and Joe Jimenez possibly being out for the entire season. In my opinion, I think this is the bigger reason the Braves are trying to free up money. The now have an even bigger reason to get a starter and an outfielder, and now a significant relief arm as well. With needs becoming evening more important to fill and now more needs in general, freeing up money, even in unexpected ways, makes sense to get the team in the best position for 2025.
