New York Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart is lucky to be in the game and not in the locker room after taking a bone-crushing hit from Christian Elliss in the first quarter of tonight’s contest at Gillette Stadium.

On the Giants’ second possession of their ‘Monday Night Football’ clash against the New England Patriots, Jaxson Dart scrambled outside of the pocket and attempted to pick up a first down with his legs.
But as Dart was getting out of bounds, Christian Elliss delivered a big-time (and perfectly clean) hit to the rookie signal-caller.
Giants tight end Theo Johnson was hit with an unnecessary roughness penalty after coming to his teammate’s defense. New York wound up having to punt after going three-and-out on the possession.
Jaxson Dart missed two games with a concussion, and countless fans have expressed concern over his tendency to willingly take on big hits instead of sliding or just running out of bounds.
Per Pro Football Reference, Dart has completed 62.7 percent of his pass attempts for 1,417 yards, 10 touchdowns and three interceptions.
