In what has been a whirlwind week, the Cowboys had a tough divisional game against the Eagles, which saw Dallas come back from a 21-0 deficit to win, and then the Chiefs game, which was a 31-28 win that felt like a playoff game.
Yes, it is a professional sport, and players sign up for it, but that doesn’t mean Schottenheimer can’t praise his locker room for coming through after what was no doubt a tough week.
“Short weeks aren’t easy,” Schottenheimer said. “I mean, they’re the same for everybody, but emotional game against Philadelphia, right? And you have to come back and really, without hardly any practice this week, to be able to go and do what we did today, I think, is a testament to the young men in that locker room.”

Cowboys a playoff chance?
There was a little chance after Dallas beat the Eagles, but after downing the Chiefs? Yeah, there’s hope.
But what’s more, such has been the level of play over the past two weeks on both sides of the ball that Dallas has every chance to roll into Ford Field against the Detroit Lions and walk out with a win.
Do that, and move to 7-5-1, and now we’re talking.
But right now, the playoffs still look a long way away for Schottenheimer’s team, but you can’t deny they are getting hot at the right time, and as previous history tells us, sometimes that’s all you need.
Momentum is big in football, and right now, the Cowboys have it in spades.
