While Bellinger’s coming back would be a quality move, New York could also try to sign Kyle Tucker to a big contract this winter. But, with the Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers among the interested teams, it won’t be easy.
However, in a piece from Jesse Rogers of ESPN asking MLB executives for their offseason predictions, the Yankees got some good news on their odds of bringing the former Houston Astros and Chicago Cubs outfielders to New York.
Yankees get good news on Kyle Tucker after MLB execs make bold prediction
When asking MLB executives where Tucker will sign, the Yankees topped the list of teams with six votes out of 16. The Dodgers and Blue Jays came in second and third, with four and three votes, respectively. “My prediction is the Yankees,” one executive said.

Another exec predicted that Tucker won’t sign a huge, long-term deal, but rather a short-term one for a high AAV. That MLB exec explained that, “The Yankees seem well-positioned for a deal like that.”
For most of the MLB executives surveyed in this piece from ESPN, the Yankees were the favorites to land Tucker.

While teams like the Blue Jays and Dodgers will contend for Tucker, the Yankees being named as his most likely landing spot is very noteworthy.
The Blue Jays have been frequently linked to Tucker, and this cumulative prediction from MLB execs has the Yankees beating out their division rival to bring in Tucker.

Tucker hit 22 home runs with an .841 OPS in 2025 for the Cubs. While he didn’t have as dominant a season as he’s had before, he will still likely sign for a huge deal and make a big difference on his new team.
For six of 16 MLB executives polled for this piece from Rogers, the Yankees were named as Tucker’s most likely landing spot.
