Giants projected to add former Gold Glove Award winner over the winter

MLB Releases Full List Of 2024 MLB Gold Glove Award Winners For American League - Newsweek

The San Francisco Giants are looking to move the needle in 2026. They will be heading toward the future with first-year MLB coach Tony Vitello after parting ways with Bob Melvin at the end of the 2025 season.

The front office will do its best to set up its new manager well and is expected to be aggressive this winter. They have a few holes to fill and have been tied to some big-time free agents.

Watch out for them to be in talks with one of the bigger starting pitchers on the open market, but that is not their only hole. They could also use some help in the bullpen and could use an upgrade at first and second base.

Giants projected to add former Gold Glove Award winner over the winter

Luckily for the Giants, there is immense talent on the open market this winter. And while fans would love to see the club bring in someone like Kyle Tucker, Bleacher Report’s Joel Reuter believes the team will come to terms on a deal with Harrison Bader.

“Since Jung Hoo Lee and Heliot Ramos are two of the worst defensive outfielders in baseball, adding a defensive standout like Harrison Bader in center field could help offset some of their shortcomings.”

Reuter believes the former Gold Glove Award winner could tremendously help out the defense in center field. He also would not cost the team much, allowing them to focus on bringing in another big-time pitcher to pair behind Logan Webb and Robbie Ray.

Known for his glove, Bader is also coming off a season where he did well at the plate. He played in 146 regular-season games, hitting a career-high .277 batting average with a career-high 17 home runs and 54 runs batted in.
