Packers’ Playoff Odds Rise After Throttling The Vikings

The Packers have the chance to make a significant statement in the NFC North race on Thanskgiving in Detroit against the Lions, but Green Bay already boosted its odds of making the postseason after throttling the division rival Minnesota Vikings on Sunday afternoon.

Led by Micah Parsons and the defense swarming around Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy, the Packers improved to 7-3-1 after dismantling Minnesota 23-6 and can make up significant ground on the Bears with a win at Ford Field on a short week.

According to NFL Media, Gren Bay now have a 78% chance of making the postseason, the sixth-best odds in the conference.

Likewise, if the regular season ended today, the Packers would open the playoffs as the No. 6 seed, with a trip to Soldier Field to take on the division-leading Bears in the NFC Wild Card round.

Head coach Matt LaFleur’s team is going to have its work cut out for it to actually make the playoffs, given that the Packers face the most difficult remaining strength of schedule with opponents boasting a .636 winning percentage.

Green Bay will have to get through the likes of the Lions, the Bears, twice, and the AFC West leading Denver Broncos the rest of the way.

However, if the Packers continue handling their business as they did against the Vikingsk Green Bay is going to be as tough an out as there is in the NFC bracket.
