The Green Bay Packers have a major question mark on the offensive side of the ball for Week 12 in running back Josh Jacobs.

Jacobs sustained a knee injury in the Week 11 win over the New York Giants that forced his early exit and landed him on this week’s injury report.

Jacobs was, however, able to turn in two limited practices during the week before drawing a questionable tag. Adding to the uncertainty, Jacobs would not rule out sitting against the Minnesota Vikings.

“Worst case if I don’t play this week, Thursday I’m definitely playing,” Jacobs said. “It’s not like something that’ll linger over past that. That’s really the worst-case scenario, yeah.”

On Saturday, the Packers made some roster moves, and one of them is likely bad news for Jacobs’ chances of playing.

Is Josh Jacobs playing this week?

The Packers announced they have elevated running back Pierre Strong from the practice squad, along with linebacker Jamon Johnson.

This is a clear sign that Jacobs is no lock to play on Sunday because the Packers only have two other running backs on their 53-man roster outside of Jacobs and would need a third if the veteran doesn’t suit up.

If Jacobs indeed sits out, the Packers will hand the reins of the backfield to Emmanuel Wilson, who has operated as the clear cut No. 2 back this season.

Wilson would be backed up by both Chris Brooks and Strong in that scenario, with Brooks likely to spell Wilson the most.

We won’t give up all hope yet, though, as Jacobs still has not been confirmed to be ruled out, so keep an eye on those inactives on Sunday when they drop an hour and a half before the 1 p.m. kickoff with the Vikings.
