BREAKING: Dodgers predicted to break baseball once again by signing $120 million two-time World Series champ, three-time All-Star to replace Max Muncy

The Los Angeles Dodgers have a chance now to do one of the hardest things in sports: go for the three-peat. If they want to win back-to-back-to-back championships, they’re going to have to keep their super team in top form.

One of those ways is getting another All-Star in their lineup. Fansided’s Jake Elman believes that the All-Star could be Alex Bregman. While they already have Max Muncy, he’s 36 years old and in the final year of his contract.

“Rather than break the bank for Tucker and bolster their outfield, maybe the Dodgers should instead turn their attention to the infield and set their sights on Boston Red Sox third baseman Alex Bregman…Although the Dodgers recently picked up Muncy’s $10 million option, he turns 36 in August and is in the final year of his contract. Muncy remains an immensely valuable hitter — he’s quietly posted 27.2 bWAR, a .842 OPS, and an excellent 15.4% walk rate since becoming a full-time player in 2018 — and he makes sense for plenty of teams as a stopgap third baseman,” Elman wrote.

This past season, Bregman hit .273/.360/.462/.821 with 28 doubles, 18 home runs, and 62 RBI in 114 games played. Those numbers would surely be pumped up when playing in the super lineup the Dodgers have.

Plus, another thing Bregman has over Muncy is his defense. Bregman’s a Gold Glove third baseman, and is a Silver Slugger. Overall, he’s just a better player than Muncy and would be an upgrade.

Hopefully, the Dodgers realize this and start talks with Bregman’s camp. Otherwise, if they wait even a second too long, the Boston Red Sox will re-sign their leader in a heartbeat.
