Mike Tomlin was not a fan of this reporter’s question.
On Thursday Night Football, the Pittsburgh Steelers dropped to 8-3 on the season after losing their first game in six weeks in the form of a 24-19 defeat against their AFC North divisional rivals, the Cleveland Browns. In middle of a snowstorm, the Steelers couldn’t overcome an 18-6 deficit despite a last-stitch effort from Russell Wilson and the offense with 57-seconds remaining in the game.

Following the loss, Steelers head coach, Mike Tomlin spoke with the media to breakdown Thursday night’s game. However, his post-game media availability was cut short when one reporter asked him quite the wild question about former All-Pro wideout and Steelers legend, Antonio Brown.
“Antonio Brown tweeted out that he wants to return to the [Pittsburgh] Steelers and he’d play for free, any thoughts on that?” was the question that got Tomlin to walk away from the podium and abruptly end his post-game press conference.

Brown, 36, hasn’t played in the NFL since 2021, where he ripped off his jersey and ran off of the field during a game against the New York Jets when he was playing for the Tom Brady-led Tampa Bay Buccaneers. During his eight seasons in Pittsburgh, Brown was perennially one of the NFL’s best wideouts, securing five All-Pro team honors, while being named to seven Pro Bowls, before winning Super Bowl 55 with the Buccaneers.
Meanwhile, Tomlin and the Steelers will have 10 days to sit on Thursday night’s loss before they return to action in Week 13 before traveling for an AFC North showdown with the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday afternoon (Sunday, Dec. 1, 1:00 pm EDT/10:00 am PDT) on CBS.
