🔥 CHAMPION’S HEART ON DISPLAY: Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is celebrating a $130,000 announcement — but it’s not about luxury or fame. The two-time MVP is using his platform to give back, as the donation from his foundation will help fund programs for underprivileged youth across Kansas City. It’s another reminder that Mahomes’ greatness isn’t just measured in touchdowns — it’s in the lives he changes off the field.

The Kansas City Chiefs are getting some much-needed rest following their 28-21 loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Sitting in the third place in the AFC West with a 5-4 record, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes understands their margin of error is thin moving forward.

“We got to play better football,” Mahomes told reporters. And right off the bye, we’re playing [the] Denver [Broncos]. So, that’ll be a huge game for us. And so, how can we respond with this bye week, getting ourselves better and self-scouting ourselves so that we can be better and go up against a tough division opponent?”

While the Chiefs didn’t play on Sunday, November 9, Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, remained in Kansas City to watch the KC Current take on Gotham FC in the NWSL quarterfinals. Brittany is a founding co-owner of the Current, along with owners Chris and Angie Long. Mahomes joined as a co-owner in January 2023.

Despite being the No. 1 seed and breaking a slew of league records during the regular season, the Current’s postseason came to a shocking end following their 2-1 loss.

One day earlier, Mahomes and Brittany were in Lubbock, Texas. The three-time Super Bowl MVP was the guest picker on ESPN’s “College GameDay” program on Saturday, and watched as his alma mater, Texas Tech, handed BYU its first loss of the season.

During the matchup, Josh Abbott of The Josh Abbott Band met up with Mahomes and revealed the huge gesture Mahomes made earlier this year.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes Quietly Helped Raise $130,000 for Heaven’s 27 Foundation

The Josh Abbott Band, originally from Lubbock, revealed Mahomes helped raise $130,000 for Heaven’s 27 Foundation. The foundation was created in memory of the 27 girls whose lives were lost in the Guadalupe River flood at Camp Mystic in July.

The Josh Abbott Band held a benefit concert honoring the victims and ongoing recovery efforts in September, which raised over $1.2 million.

While Abbott didn’t publicly name Mahomes as a sponsor before the event, he celebrated his gesture with a post on his Instagram Stories during the Red Raiders game, which the two-time league MVP reposted on Sunday.

While Mahomes deserves applause for his performance on the field, he also deserves credit for his off-the-field achievements. On October 20, he hosted the 15 and the Mahomies’ 6th annual gala in Kansas City.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid and his wife, Tammy Reid, attended the event. Mahomes’ mother, Randi Mahomes, father Pat Mahomes Sr., brother Jackson Mahomes, and half-sister Mia also joined for the evening.

Following the auction, the foundation announced on Instagram that it had raised over $1,508,000. Mahomes and the foundation wrote in a shared post on Tuesday, October 21, “The 6th Annual 15 and the Mahomies Foundation Gala! Over 900 incredible supporters in attendance and $1,508,000 granted to 27 Kansas City charities up on stage.

“Thank you to all of our amazing partners who continue to support the mission. Together, we are changing lives. See you all next year! ❤️.”
