© Katie Stratman-Imagn ImagesThe Los Angeles Dodgers captured the 2025 World Series title, securing back-to-back championships after defeating the Toronto Blue Jays in a seven-game classic. However, the path to victory nearly ended in heartbreak. In Game 7, Los Angeles was just two outs away from elimination before infielder Miguel Rojas emerged as an unlikely hero.Trailing 4–3 in the top of the ninth inning, Rojas launched a game-tying home run off Toronto’s closer Jeff Hoffman, sending the matchup into extra innings. The Dodgers went on to win, completing one of the most dramatic comebacks in franchise history.
Rojas had made just two starts all postseason until Game 6 of the Fall Classic, when he replaced struggling outfielder Andy Pages in the lineup. His clutch performance in Games 6 and 7 proved to be the deciding factor in the Dodgers’ championship run.

Now entering unrestricted free agency, Rojas has made it clear that 2026 will be his final year in the big leagues.
On Saturday, he sent a message that he wants that final season to be with the Dodgers so he can help the team pursue a three-peat. “I want to go back and play for the Dodgers. I think we deserve a chance to three-peat together. I think we deserve an opportunity to run it back,” Rojas told Doug McKain of Dodgers Nation on Saturday.
Rojas emphasized that money is not a priority — he just wants to return. “That is my main motivation. It is not about me getting money or getting the right deal or anything like that. It is about keeping the core together for one more year and giving us the opportunity to three-peat,” he continued.
Rojas still proved to be a valuable bench piece for the Dodgers during the regular season, adding depth to the lineup along with versatility. The 36-year-old veteran appeared in 114 games, posting a .262 batting average, .318 on-base percentage, .715 OPS, seven home runs and 27 RBIs. He has spent the last three seasons of his 12-year career in Los Angeles. The only other organization Rojas has played for is the Miami Marlins.
