The San Francisco 49ers are competing for a division title in the NFC West, currently a half game behind the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams for first place.
Coach Kyle Shanahan’s team has relied on the steady hand of Mac Jones in recent weeks as the former first round pick has made good on his potential under the tutelage of Shanahan and his staff.

On Thursday, Shanahan addressed a direct question about the team’s chemistry going forward with Brock Purdy preparing to replace Jones.
He didn’t mince words as he addressed it in a direct way.
Shanahan Responds to Purdy Question
Shanahan was asked about Purdy’s return and how it may affect the 49ers’ team chemistry.
“No, I really don’t get concerned too much with offensive chemistry,” Shanahan said. “Mac’s showing he can play at a high level. Everyone knows that Brock can play at a high level.

“When Brock is healthy and he’s himself, we know he’ll play at a high level. As long as you have a quarterback playing at a high level, you don’t worry about the chemistry,” he added.
Fans Respond to Purdy Comments
Fans sounded emotionally charged in the comments as they reacted to Shanahan’s response.
“There’s no offensive chemistry,” one person said. “It’s just (Christian) McCaffrey and no one else.”
“Wouldn’t say everyone,” another person said referencing Shanahan’s Purdy comment.

“Kyle’s a spoiled teenage robot running a billion dollar organization incredible,” another said.
Another was skeptical that Purdy is the best choice for the starting job.
“Purdy was healthy week one and looked like (expletive),” they said. “He was healthy last season and looked like (expletive),” they added.
“Do away with these (expletive) excuses Kyle,” they concluded.
49ers to Welcome Rams
The 49ers are set to welcome the Los Angeles Rams to Levi’s Stadium on Sunday, Nov. 9 with veteran QB Matt Stafford playing like an MVP candidate.

Los Angeles won the first meeting on Oct. 2 by a score of 26-23 in overtime which snapped a three-game losing streak in the two teams’ series.
Purdy was limited in practice this week as he returns from a turf toe injury. He could back up Jones before potentially returning to his starting role at some point this season in San Francisco.
