The Packers‘ secondary has been in a bit of a state of flux, and it might be a few more weeks before Green Bay can settle on an ideal combination of cornerbacks and safeties.

Following Sunday’s loss to the Carolina Panthers, tight end Tucker Kraft and wide receiver Matthew Golden weren’t the only Packers dealing with injuries.

Nate Hobbs to miss time for the Packers

Veteran cornerback Nate Hobbs will likely miss at least two-to-three weeks after suffering a sprained MCL against Carolina.

Green Bay signed Hobbs to a $48 million deal, as a free agent earlier this spring, and he has yet to live up to the contract, at one point there were even discussions about the possibility that defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley and the Packers might bench the veteran cornerback.

Despite the fact that he was primarily a slot cornerback during his career with the Las Vegas Raiders, PackersWire points out that Green Bay has played Hobbs on the outside boundary on upwards of 77 percent of his snaps this season.

After Carolina’s loss leaves Green Bay with little margin for error, Hafley and the defense now must find a way to slow an Eagles passing attack that features the likes of A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, without Hobbs on the field.
