Tight end Jake Ferguson won’t play against Washington.
Right guard Zack Martin is doubtful.
Cornerback DaRon Bland is poised to make his regular-season debut.
Ferguson comes as no surprise. He remains in concussion protocol. And Martin’s not much of a surprise, either. The Pro Bowl guard didn’t practice all week and is dealing with injuries to both ankles and a shoulder.
Since no one listed as doubtful at this stage has played in a game for the Cowboys this season, expect T.J. Bass to take Martin’s place.
“Like anything, you look at strengths,’’ Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy said. “A very good lower half-body. And smart.’’
Bland has practiced three consecutive days leading up to a game for the first time this season. In fact, he carries no designation while cornerback Trevon Diggs is questionable with a groin and knee injury.
“He came out good yesterday [Thursday] and went through everything today,’’ McCarthy said of Bland.
Diggs is one of six players listed as questionable for Dallas. The others are guard Tyler Smith (ankle/knee), linebacker Nick Vigil (foot), swing tackle Chuma Edoga (toe), receiver Brandin Cooks (knee) and defensive end Marshawn Kneeland (knee).
Edoga, Cooks and Kneeland are all on injured reserve so a corresponding move would be required to make room for them on the active roster.
