Yankees Linked To $4 Million Dodgers World Series Hero In Free Agency Read more at: https:

The New York Yankees had their most successful season in over a decade this year. Unfortunately for the Bronx Bombers, they still weren’t talented enough to overcome the powerhouse Los Angeles Dodgers. Now, New York has the offseason to improve its roster enough to compete with the Dodgers and the rest of the league again. The top priority for Aaron Boone’s Yankees is to get Juan Soto back in pinstripes and back in Boone’s lineup. But after that, unrestricted free agency has a lot of enticing players available.

If you can’t beat the Dodgers, you might as well start stealing their players in free agency, right? MLB Network’s Jon Morosi recently reported that the Yankees and Dodgers’ free agent pitcher Walker Buehler have expressed “mutual interest” toward a free agency contract.

Buehler to the Yankees could make a lot of sense for both sides. Spotrac projects Buehler to sign a one-year, $3.9 million contract, but he may be able to land a contract worth a bit more than that. At a price tag this low, the Yankees could look to sign him and trade a pitcher like Nester Cortes or Marcus Stroman, adding a better pitcher and acquiring prospects in one move.

Buehler would also weaken the Dodgers, not incredibly but a little bit. Any small piece of the Dodgers’ armor that can be chipped away at, should be. The fit, money, and market make too much sense for the Yankees not to explore.
