Diehard Cubs fan Megan Homme was attending a postseason game against the Milwaukee Brewers in the NLDS.
A man then subtly passed Homme an unusual folded note.
The note explained that the man was planning to propose to his partner.
And he had a special task for the Cubs fan.
“In the middle of the 5th inning, I’m going to ask my girl to marry me,” It read. “It will display on the screen in the left field.
“Would you be so kind as to record it and send the video to me? Thank you so much in advance.”
Fortunately, Homme was immediately onboard with making the moment as special as possible.
She has recounted the incident to People.
“I understood immediately,” Homme said. “I was nervous to be tasked with capturing such an important moment for them.”
“If you know me, you know I was going to take that job very seriously.”
It was a stroke of luck asking Homme to capture the moment as she is a social media star with 447,000 followers.
Homme successfully completed her task and uploaded the footage to her TikTok account.
The video has amassed over 1.3 million views.
“That’s my son and his lovely soon-to-be bride. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking this video and putting it to the perfect song!” one user commented.
“You better be invited,” another joked.
Unfortunately, there was no fairytale on the field for the Cubs.
Their two home wins against the Brewers were not enough to progress to the NLDS.
To make matters worse, it appears increasingly likely that Kyle Tucker, 28, is set to leave the Cubs.
Right fielder Tucker was brutally benched in August following his drop in form.
The Cubs finished the regular season second in the National League Central behind the Brewers.
