As Dallas gets ready to host Arizona on Monday Night Football, the Dallas Cowboys rumor mill is in full swing and a few of the proposals even make sense, starting with New York Jets edge rusher Jermaine Johnson, who Bleacher Report claims Dallas could get for a second-round pick.
The Myles Garrett rumors, which seemed to be a pipe dream, got some juice when ESPN said Cleveland could possibly move on from him.

Meanwhile, Charles Barkley chimed in on the Dallas Cowboys, and, not surprisingly, he’s not bullish on Dallas’ defense. Here’s a run-down of what’s in the news.

Dallas Cowboys trade rumors: Jermaine Johnson
Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report came out with his 10 Bold Predictions for 2025 NFL Trade Deadline, and, as is no surprise, he had the Cowboys trading for an edge rusher.
In this case, it’s Jermaine Johnson of the New York Jets, a fourth-year pro who made the Pro Bowl in 2023 when he had 7 1/2 sacks. He missed most of last year with a torn Achilles tendon, and he has one sack this year.

Here is what Gagnon wrote: “The Jets could decide to escape Johnson’s contract before an expensive fifth-year option kicks in for 2026. Meanwhile, the Cowboys are looking to fill that void left by Micah Parsons. …
“Prediction: Johnson costs the Cowboys a Day 2 pick and delivers on occasion for a team that should be in the playoff hunt.”
So he thinks the 3-4-1 Cowboys “should” be in the playoff hunt, so treat this rumor accordingly.

Dallas Cowboys trade rumors: Myles Garrett
The idea of Dallas getting Cleveland star edge rusher Myles Garrett, who is in the first year of a four-year contract, seemed doused quickly when rumors bubbled up at the week’s beginning, but it seems to have a little more legs now that ESPN Insider Dan Graziano gave life to the possibility the Browns could move on.

Graziano writes: “The Browns were adamant in the spring, when Garrett issued his trade demand, that they wouldn’t trade him. … Back then, Browns ownership was still trying to secure public funding for a new stadium venture, and now they have.
“In July, Ohio governor Mike DeWine signed a new two-year budget that set aside $600 million for a new Browns stadium. If one of the reasons they weren’t trading Garrett in February was because he was the face of their franchise and they didn’t want negative attention at a time when they were asking for public money, that issue is now resolved and shouldn’t stand in the way if they decide this is the right football decision.
“All of this is to say, the idea of the Browns trading Garrett isn’t inconceivable, especially if that’s what he wants. He didn’t come out and say it in his news conference Sunday, but he also made it very clear he’s not happy with the way things are going.”
Graziano mentioned the Cowboys and the Los Angeles Rams as potential landing spots, but he also mentioned a price tag of two first-round picks, with the idea that he’s under contract for four more years. So this doesn’t seem likely, but it’s out there.

Dallas Cowboys trade rumors: Jaelan Phillips
Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report has his big board of 10 trade targets, including Dallas and the San Francisco 49ers as potential landing spots for edge rusher Jaelan Phillips. He has his potential value as a 2026 fourth-round pick, which seems in Dallas’ price range.
Phillips is in his fifth year and has been injured quite a bit since getting an all-rookie notice in 2021. He missed most of 2023 and most of last year with separate injuries.
He has been healthy this year and has two sacks.
Knox writes: “While Phillips is an impending 2026 free agent and would require an extension in the spring, his upside should interest contenders and rebuilding teams alike.”

Dallas Cowboys injury update: DaMarvion Overshown
Dallas got a major scare when their oft-injured but potential star linebacker, DaMarvion Overshown, out of the University of Texas, who began practicing with the team last week, left Thursday’s practice with an apparent injury.
The good news: It had nothing to do with the injuries to his ACL, MCL and PCL he suffered last year.
Better news: He later returned to Thursday’s practice and the injury is to his thumb.
He is unlikely to play Monday against the Arizona Cardinals, but could be back after the bye when Dallas plays the Las Vegas Raiders on Nov. 17.

Dallas Cowboys injury update: Cooper Beebe
More good news for Dallas: starting center Cooper Beebe, who has missed the last six weeks to an ankle and foot injury, should be back this week for the Monday Night Football game with Arizona.
“I think this will be the week,” Cowboys vice president said on his weekly radio show. “He was so close (last week), I believe this will be the week.”
Charles Barkley: Dallas D ‘can’t stop a bloody nose’
NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley has lots of opinions and he’s never afraid to share them. On Thursday’s edition of Inside the NBA, he took a shot at the Dallas Cowboys.

Said Barkley: “They have us contractually obligated to talk about the Dallas Cowboys every day even though their defense can’t stop a bloody nose. … Don’t trade your best defensive player and then whine about (how you) can’t stop anybody.”
Here you go.

Kyler Murray vs. Dallas Cowboys
The Arizona Cardinals quarterback seems likely to return to the lineup after a two-game absence because of a foot injury. However, coach Jonathan Gannon admitted he’s keeping this close to his vest by not naming a starter until game time.
All indications, though, are that Murray will play this week as Arizona comes off a bye.
Murray, who is from the Dallas area, is 2-0 all-time against the Cowboys, beating them in 2020 and 2022.
Dallas Cowboys last Super Bowl win
The Cowboys last won the Super Bowl, their fifth Lombardi Trophy, after the 1995 season. That year, Dallas won Super Bowl XXX, their third Super Bowl in four years, 27-17 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
