The San Francisco 49ers fell to the Houston Texans 26-15 at NRG Stadium on Sunday in Week 8, but it was a day to celebrate for the tight ends for National Tight Ends Day.
For the holiday, 49ers quarterback Mac Jones found tight ends George Kittle and Jake Tonges for touchdowns, San Francisco’s only two scores of the day.

Kittle’s touchdown was his second of the year and first since returning from a hamstring injury that landed him on injured reserve and cost him five weeks of the season. Luckily, the 32-year-old was mic’d up for the game, so fans got an up-close look at the score and his reaction, as well as his thoughts on Tonges’ touchdown.

2025 hasn’t been Kittle’s best thus far, but as the 49ers get more offensive players back from their injuries and the tight end continues to get his legs back under him, things should get easier.
