COWBOYS TRADE BOOST ALERT: Dak Prescott drops a bold claim that trades can “definitely help” Dallas, igniting speculation that the quarterback sees roster tweaks as the spark to revive the team’s firepower, fuel playoff hopes, and send a clear message to the league that the Cowboys aren’t settling for mediocrity..ll

The NFL trade deadline is fast approaching, and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott knows his team could use an injection of talent.

The most obvious part of the team that needs reinforcing is the defense, but where? Pass rusher, linebacker, safety, and corner are all huge needs, and the Cowboys can’t fill all of those needs now.

But what about adding one or two pieces from a team that is looking to sell?

Could that be beneficial for the Cowboys?

“It definitely can help a team, not being naïve and understanding where we are,” Prescott said. “To say one position is where we need to go, or that, I’m not sure. Leave it to the guys who are in those talks and I’m sure making those decisions and working hard right now as we near the deadline to figure out something.

“It definitely can help. Not going to shy away from saying that.”

Should Cowboys make a trade before deadline?

That is the question every Cowboys fan is asking themselves right now.

But not all are in alignment.

Some believe this offense is too good to waste to not try to add a piece or two to make the defense at least average. Others think the defense is beyond help, so holding onto the draft capital and using it all on defense next year while extending George Pickens could be the way to go.

In truth, something needs to be done, and the Cowboys can’t just sit on their hands here.

The defense desperately needs help, and yes, injured players will be returning over the next couple of weeks, but will that be enough? Not likely.

A trade for a linebacker or corner is what I’m looking at, and one that isn’t a one-year rental, someone who will be here beyond 2025 because there is a fair chance Matt Eberflus won’t be.

Do the Cowboys need to make a trade? The answer seems pretty straightforward.
