COWBOYS CONTRACT SHOCK: George Pickens receives jaw-dropping advice from Jerry Jones, sending waves through the NFL as whispers erupt that the superstar rookie could be plotting a deal that redefines expectations, sparks front-office debates, and proves Dallas isn’t playing around when it comes to talent and money..ll

Jerry Jones drops bombshell on possible George Pickens renewal with the Dallas Cowboys | Marca

Dallas Cowboys receiver George Pickens has been the talk of the town since arriving at The Star and the former Pittsburgh Steeler has been such an incredible addition to Brian Schottenheimer’s offense.

Already with over 600 yards and six touchdowns in just eight games, given that Pickens is on the final year of his rookie deal, some think that an extension could be forthcoming. Granted, George stated in the offseason that he would wait until the end of the year, but some fans want the Cowboys to put a contract in front of him now.

Negotiating contracts with Jerry Jones isn’t a simple thing, Micah Parsons can attest to that, but so can CeeDee Lamb, and when asked if he has any advice for George when it comes to negotiating a contract with Jerry, CeeDee knew full well what the point of the question was.

“What are we doing?” Lamb said with a huge smile and shake of the head. “Stay positive. Your money going to come.”

Do Cowboys need to extend Pickens?

No, they don’t need to, but it would be highly beneficial to do so.

After all, the Cowboys gave up draft capital to get him, and seeing what the offense has looked like with Pickens, Lamb, and Dak Prescott, it is one of the best in football, so why not keep that together?

Signing Pickens won’t be cheap, at least $30 million APY, but we have seen several teams pay players near top of the market money and still be more than competitive, so don’t let Dallas tell you it can’t be done.

In a season that hasn’t had many highlights, extending Pickens would certainly be a nice pick-me-up for Cowboys nation, but we know that Jerry doesn’t make things easy when it comes to parting ways with his salary cap.
