Blake Snell claims the Dodgers were simply unlucky

The Blue Jays took the lead in game 5 from the very beginning after Davis Schneider and Vladimir Guerrero Jr hit back to back home runs and they did not look back after that.

After the game, Snell spoke to the media and did not give the Blue Jays much credit for their 6-1 win as he stated that there was only so much they can do, that the Dodgers were simply unlucky.

Snell: «I’m not one to make excuses it’s just pretty unlucky. Only so much you can do, and that’s baseball.»

Fans were quick to point how Snell blamed back luck but the numbers from game 1 and 5 in which he pitched tell a very different story as he gave up a total of 14 hits and 10 earned runs between the two games.

Blake snell claiming it was unlucky & blue jays didn’t really get too him uh?

Game 1:

8 Hits
5 ER
3 BB
1 HR

Game 5:

6 Hits
5 ER
4 BB
2 HR

That’s a lot of bad luck!

Despite Snell not giving the Blue Jays credit, it is hard to argue that they were not on fire yesterday between the back to back home runs then Trey Yesavage striking out 12 batters, the whole team was humming.
